Health & Safety Crisis

The situation has taken a serious toll on their health:

• Vivian is facing early‑onset dementia.

• Don is immobile and covered in more than 100 bedbug bites.

• Chris is disabled and living on a fixed income.

In January 2026, Vivian suffered a stroke and was rushed to the hospital. When she arrived, staff counted 25 bedbugs on her — in her hair, on her clothes, even inside her phone.

Because of the home’s condition, healthcare workers cannot provide in‑home care. Until the house is safe, they cannot receive the support they desperately need.

They deserve better. They deserve dignity, safety, and peace.

Additional Safety Concerns

They also live in an unsafe part of North Carolina. Recently, someone attempted to steal the exhaust system from their vehicle. To protect them, we need to install security cameras and basic safety measures around the home.
